There’s no need to go overboard with your car’s transmission fluid and check it every month, but there are some times when you need to realize that the transmission is sending you a message. Here’s what Max Mile Car Care Center wants you to know.
The Transmission Is Loud
Normally you might not hear a lot out of your car’s transmission. But when the transmission fluid is low or is not able to do what it is supposed to do, then you are going to hear a lot more from the transmission. The gears might not slide together as well and you may hear other noises. Those sounds are bound to get louder and more frequent over time, so ignoring the situation won’t help.
The Transmission Is Having Issues
Other problems that can clue you in to the fact that there’s a problem with the car’s transmission include rough shifting, hesitation, or just feeling as if the transmission isn’t responding much at all. When you press the accelerator, you expect that you’ll get a response. But when the transmission is having trouble, you’re not going to get the normal reactions when you hit the gas.
There’s a Transmission Fluid Leak
Any leak under your car is not great news, frankly, and it should be inspected right away to make sure that there’s nothing big going on. When you see transmission fluid under the car, it’s likely to be under the back end of the car. As you look closer, you’ll see that the fluid might be a little see-through and it could have reddish tones to it. That’s how you’ll be able to narrow down that it’s most likely transmission fluid.
The Check Engine Light Lit Up
You might not be sure what the check engine light has to do with your car’s transmission, but they are closely tied together. When the transmission starts to have trouble, your car’s engine control module lets you know by turning the check engine light on. Although you might think that the problem is with the engine, proper diagnostic testing will let you know that the actual issue may well be in the transmission.
You’re never alone with your car’s transmission troubles. If you suspect that something is going on with your transmission, call us right away at Max Mile Car Care Center in Hallam, PA. We’ll take a closer look at let you know exactly what’s going on.
